AK SOLARIS X is a culmination of Campfire Audio's technology specially tuned for Astell&Kern. Its hybrid system, which integrates a balanced BA driver and an optimized dynamic driver, faithfully conveys A&K's deep and rich sound.
SOLARIS, Campfire Audio's high-end earphones that are highly acclaimed by audiophiles around the globe, are now reborn in collaboration with Astell&Kern.
The custom BA driver designed specifically for the AK SOLARIS X is smaller in size than its predecessor used in existing models, and offers wideband performance. Coupled with Campfire’s patented tuned acoustic expansion chamber (T.A.E.C.) technology, the new driver also offers smooth and extended high frequencies. Another BA driver provides rich delivery of the mid-range frequencies, and the custom 10mm dynamic driver optimized for the Polarity Tuned Chamber reproduces deeper and more refined mid-to-low frequency. Each earphone integrates a 3D Printed Acoustic Chamber to enable the drivers to deliver the highest audio quality possible, creating a natural and accurate sound.
AK SOLARIS X comes with a balanced 2.5mm pure silver cable allowing the earphones to reach their full performance potential. Pure Silver Litz Cable is produced with four 4N (99.99% purity) conductors to offer clearer, extended sounds. The jacket that wraps around each conductor ensures both flexibility and durability. At the same time, it is soft to touch and a practical to use every day.
The cable is terminated with a custom beryllium/copper MMCX connectors and over-molded balanced 2.5mm plug. This cable brings out the best in AK Solaris X.
Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber
Our tuned acoustic expansion chamber technology allows us to deliver extended high frequencies without sibilance or fatigue. We optimize our driver performance by adjusting the volume of space available in front of the driver. This is superior to the typical "Tube+Dampener" system because it provides a direct passage from the driver to your ear, which results in unsurpassed clarity and extension.
3D Printed Acoustic Tuning for Dynamic Drivers
The Polarity Tuned Chamber allows us to optimize the sonic performance of our dynamic drivers. Deploying particular volume cavities, both in front of and behind our dynamic driver, we can pull bigger sounds from smaller drivers. This also gives us the ability, in the case of hybrid designs, to specifically target the driver performance.

AK SOLARIS X is hand-assembled in Portland, Oregon, USA by skilled craftsmen, ensuring each individual earphone is manufactured to the highest quality standards with beryllium/copper MMCX connectors that are more resilient against wear and tear than regular brass connectors.
The cork case is handmade with eco-friendly materials for long-lasting durability while maintaining its original shape.
