The Torino 1706 version represents a design and historical re-enactment operation that starts from the ancient map of Turin Citadel under the French siege in the year 1706. The defensive geometries that take shape on the surfaces of this headphone make this version unique. Andrea Ricci has extended the experimentation to exclusive materials such as ostrich leather or laser engraving on curved surfaces, obtaining a result which is particularly appreciated by collectors.

The Radiante is the first closed-back headphone of Spirit Torino and represents an innovation in the world of high-end headphones. They have concentrated in this headphone years of experience by rethinking the concept of a closed-back headphone from scratch. The main feature of a closed-back, the isolation from and to the outside world, is what makes the design so much more complex.

Tuning in such a complex project is fundamental for the satisfying listening experience of the enthusiast and for a reliable reproduction required by professional. Over time, we have better understood the importance of the isophonic (Fletcher-Munson or equal sensitivity) curve for the human ear and how to apply it to shape the frequency response of our headphones, in order to preserve the music’s essence. Through the continuous interaction with musicians and sound engineers, and after a long series of tests, both in the lab as in the field, the Radiante, like all Spirit headphones, has been refined to achieve an extraordinary level of performance, suitable for every use.

All a Game of Pressures

The passive radiator allows the headphone to simulate a larger load volume and to optimize the drive movement, ensuring a low-frequency response which typical of Spirit Torino headphones. The Radiante provides fast, powerful and controlled bass like no other closed-back headphone does.

In the Spirit tradition, the frame is designed so as not to color the music and is entirely made of solid, milled aluminum, internally treated with Dynamat® dampening and other anti-reflective materials to make it unaffected by the vibrations generated by the drive. The weight of a Spirit headset is carefully calibrated to form the so-called inertial frame system, which is a frame that supports with its mass the dynamic pulse generated by the drive’s piston-like movement, without any significant recoil, thus preserving the dynamic efficiency of the headphone for a live feeling.

Technologically Advanced Earpads, Top Notch Comfort & Sound Isolation

In this headphone we have implemented specific technical solutions to avoid the common downsides of closed-back headphones:

• External pressure compensation holes with sound insulation to avoid pressure on the eardrum and the related “hollow” effect.
• Ear pads made in collaboration with Dekoni which provide the finest leather on the outside and perforated leather on the inside to optimize the acoustics of the chamber while the Alcantara® guarantees breathability and hygiene on the skin.
• The forward-bent configuration of the earpad has the double purpose of better adapting the headphone to the ear and the head and projecting the soundstage frontally.
• Headbands made of very finest leathers with anatomic padding.

Spirit Torino developed the Radiante earpads in strict collaboration with Dekoni, the leading headphone earpads manufacturer. Shape, tilt, surface treatment … nothing has been left to chance. But the choice of materials is the real highlight of this project.

• Very finest leather for the side surfaces, identical to that used for headbands.
• Alcantara for the part that rests on the ear.

The Radiante is standard equipped with a high-performance cable developed in collaboration with prestigious cable manufacturer Portento Audio, a truly exceptional original equipment feature.
