"Outstanding Performance by Astell kern sp4000 I am an Astell fan on the get go . I owned the sp2000 ( sold) and now I have the sp3000 copper and the se300 and as of yesterday acquired the sp 4000 copper. Lots of hesitation due its humongous price tag but I still pulled the trigger and no regrets. . night and day if you ask me. I am no audio expert but like music… I can hear instruments that I couldn’t hear before. . soundstage is out of this world. . absolutely extremely happy with this device. . it is highly priced for a reason. ."

Magnificiency
"First of all thanks to HeadAmp team. It was great talking to you and arrange my order, on the last day of the year. I always feel confident dealing with you, even on (for my budget) relevant items. This is my second A&K, as I decided to upgrade from SE300. I use my DAPs in multiple scenarios like running with bone conduction headphones, while driving in bluetooth with internal speakers, with bluetooth headphone in the office (Noble Fokus Rex5) and with Empire Ears Odin when I want to disappear from reality. The SP4000 covers all of the above but the running part (for its weight), but it brings sound, experience, emotion to a whole new level. I have a phenomenal HiFi (and I truly mean it) in my pocket, in my car, in my office. Qobuz works perfectly, while I am dropping Tidal, for signal instability reasons. But, as a streamer, and connected to an Audio Research pre-amp, with high res files, … wow. Yes, just speechless. Worth every single penny. Best. Alessandro"

A winner
"The first dap I have had that actually sounds great with Focal Utopia headphones. Utopias are very transparent and show any flaws in the front end. Maybe not quite as good as my desktop set up but that is pretty high end with Aurender N10 streamer, Merason dac1 and Feliks Euforia. The Sp4000 is in the ballpark of that setup, pretty amazing for a dap. Iloaded about 1tb onto a microsd card on my computer, put it in the dap, and it read it and categorized it no problem. Also sounds great and easily drives Sennheiser hd800s headphones. I don't own any high end gem's but it sounds also great with my Campfire Andrometa's. Streaming through Qobuz seems as good as local files. My only complaint so far is that when you put it in the supplied case you can't really swipe down to access the various functions in that menu. I also fed it into my speaker system through line out single ended and it sounds not as good as the above dac and streamer into my tube amp, but really sounds quite good, and I would probably be happy with it as a source if I didn't have a pretty high end front end."
