Truly a revolution in acoustic engineering, AMTS uses advanced metamaterial design concepts to shape the system frequency response while simultaneously eliminating high-frequency standing waves, which are responsible for the synthetic-sounding high frequencies are found in all too many headphones.

NOIRE X is designed around an updated and improved AEON audio driver. The new driver is significantly more rigid than it’s predecessor, with superior unit to unit consistency, reduced distortion, improved reliability, and smoothed frequency response.
Extensive R&D investments were made to optimize other aspects of NOIRE X’s planar driver. New manufacturing processes combined with highly optimized V-Planar knurling deliver a remarkably smooth frequency response with low distortion throughout the listening range, achieving levels of detail heretofore found primarily in our top-of-the-line headphones.
Leveraging our state-of-the-art Audio Precision 555B and B&K 5128 measurement system, we’ve carefully integrated NOIRE X’s new driver with our patent-pending AMTS and redesigned ear pads to create an experience we’re sure you’ll never forget.
Our self-tensioning headband reduces listening fatigue by distributing pressure evenly across your head for a balanced, barely-there fit.

"Fantastic pair of closed-backs. Almost as good in detail and imaging as my HiFiMan HE1000 Stealth but with more natural timbre and decent isolation. Unless I'm going to listen to a big symphony in a quiet room I will grab the NoireX. Love them!"

"Delivery was fast and safely received The fit is a little uncomfortable as I have a large head. I feel pressured, but it is comfortable because the headband and frame are tied with a rubber band. It has good sound insulation and is similar to wearing earplugs. The sound is clear and flat without any sense of warm tilt. However, there is a bit of treble, but it is not uncomfortable even without EQ. Vocals are close rather than far, and the bass volume is appropriate and solid. Other than that, the design is great and luxurious. Overall I am satisfied"

"Prior to this pair of headphones, I ran the Aeon Closed X daily, for about a year. Comparatively, this is worth the upgrade, and I wouldn't say the difference is negligible at all. The tuning is totally different, every aspect of the sound is a distinct upgrade."

"This is my first pair of Dan Clark headphones. I've been very interested in the more recent releases that appear to be really well tuned to the Harman curve. I listen to all my other headphones with EQ. These are the first over ears I've owned that I love with zero EQ. Mostly listening from a Mojo 2 which they work really well with. Tried a Fosi DS2 dongle amplifier with 1/4 inch single ended cable and it was just barely powerful enough to hit a decent volume. Very comfortable to wear! I've seem posts with pros and cons of the automatically adjusting head band, but it works really well for me. Very happy with this purchase, if you like neutral headphones and are looking for closed backs, these seem like a really nice option without going into the upper price bracket."
