2021 LCD-X Creator Edition.
"I've long wanted a pair of the Audeze LCD-X. Luckily I didn't get them until after they were revised. They sound wonderful, certainly the best headphones I've ever heard. The older version of the XC's required a lot of EQ to tame the treble but with the 2021 LCD-X I don't feel the need to EQ. I have the Reveal+ DSP and while it's interesting to hear the audio preferences of the various studios I most often don't use any DSP at all. I'm very happy with my purchase, I wish I could find IEMs that sound like this for my on-the-go listening."

Worthy of a place in your headphones collection
"The LCD-X 2021 are not perfect headphones but are an excellent addition for any headphones collector. Built quality is very robust but weight is on the high side, result of the full metal construction. Comfort is pretty good for a few hours, the clamp force on the sides and the pretty decent headband help avoiding any hotspots on the top of your head. They do become tiring if you try to use them for the whole day though. They do need heavy eq, I would recommend checking oratory1990's preset and adjusting to taste. After eq they are very enjoyable. As most reviewers note, bass is very fast and punchy, is the highlight of these headphones. Detail retrieval is a bit sub par, comparing to other planar headphones in my collection (Hifiman HE1000v2, Meze Empyrean). Soundstage is also not very wide, much less than the HE1000v2 or the HD800s, makes for a more intimate presentation. In general the sound is very pleasant and inoffensive with an emphasis on bass. Edm, electronic music etc sound amazing. In conclusion, I recommend the LCD-X 2021 for anyone wanting to add a pair of headphones to their collection. It cannot replace your higher end planars but can fulfill specific roles, use for specific type of music, add to your headphones rotation etc."

Pretty punchy
"I'd say they're pretty punchy. You can definitely hear high quality textures. I would say they are up there with the HD 8xx. Though obviously not at wide of a soundstage. They could definitely be a touch wider. But as for clarity and detail. They are an absolute beast in this area. Using for mixing and mastering, as well as music production for bass heavy genres."

Monitors You Can Take Anywhere
"Working in tight NYC quarters, I'm rarely able to use my speakers for extending tracking/mixing sessions. These renowned cans, paired with a Phonitor, have made that a non-issue. And the folks at Headamp have again made order processing and delivery a total breeze. A+ all around!"

Amazing build and quality
"I have used these headphones for almost a month now, and they still blow me away when I use them. The soundstage is intimate, with great imaging, and the detail is breathtaking. The bass is crisp and plentiful, without being overpowering. All parts of the music are able to shine without upstaging each other. They are very comfy, but for someone with a smaller head they might be too big/heavy. The cans are large and the pads are very thick. The stock cable is nicely braided and feels quality. The headphones are very easy to drive, sounding great with just a modi/magni stack."

Great sounding pair of cans
"I got the LCD-X 2021 from HeadAmp, its amazing, it's more than just a headband, weight, and the Dip in the upper mid portion fixed. There is even more detail and a slightly bigger soundstage, they also include a very nice economy case. It's my favorite headphone and 100% worth it! they are heavy but they settle right in and are super comfy - the sound is heavenly Thank you HeadAmp, fast delivery, best service"

Superb pair of cans!!
"I purchased these from the guys at Headamp just a few weeks ago and absolutely love these headphones. As a newcomer to the audiophile hobby, I upgraded to these from a pair of Hifiman Sundaras. While the Sundara is great the lcd-x is a different animal altogether. From the build quality to the sound, they have been worth every penny. Thick, luscious bass, clean, beautiful midrange, and nice sharp treble without being harsh. I'm running these with a fiio btr-5 portable dac/amp with the balanced cable and its incredible. However, I can confirm that you can get a little more performance with a desktop amp as the guys at Headamp were kind enough to let me listen to them before purchase on one of their beautiful handmade amps. I see the LCD-X as an endgame headphone for myself and something to show off to friends and family for them to hear how good music can really sound!"

LCD-X made me upgrade my Staxes
"I bought my LCD-X (2021 version) from Headamp because, as a Stax user, my phones don't plug into a regular headphones socket. I needed a second pair which would do that, for compatibility and ease of set up while travelling. The LCD-X is a very good headphone: easy to listen to, with excellent tonal qualities and with amazing build quality. For me the problem is the bass of the LCD-X showed up my mid-level Staxes such that I upgraded them - again buying from Justin!"
