Fast Service on a phenomenal product

"I have made a number of purchases from HeadAmp over the years and their service is just some of the best and most consistent out there. I actually ordered a different piece from another dealer on the same day as I wanted to A / B test them and keep the winner. HeadAmp had my unit delivered in two days. The other informed me the unit that was listed as in stock when I ordered was not in stock. So after not hearing anything about when the other unit would be available for over a week, I cancelled my order with the other dealer. HeadAmp's service was prompt and they won me with their service. FYI the Auris Audio HA-2SF has the exact sound signature I was looking for. Most tube amps are a bit to warm and laid back for me. This particular unit from Auris is known for not being warm and laid back but a bit neutral and detailed. It is what I was looking for and it delivers in spades."

Auris Audio HA-2SF Tube Headphone Amplifier Review - First Impressions

"The System Equipment: I am using a FiiO M11 PLUS high-resolution audio player, playing 16-bit FLAC files ripped from my CD collection. I’m driving a set of “Arya” Stealth Magnet Edition headphones with the Auris Audio HA-2SF Tube Headphone Amplifier. I have posted a review of the HIFIMAN Arya headphones and a HeadAmp Gilmore Lite Mark 2” Class-A Headphone Amplifier in the appropriate review sections. My current headphone amplifier, as stated above, is the HeadAmp “Gilmore Lite Mark 2” Class-A Headphone Amplifier (1.5 Watts) with the optional dedicated external power supply and it has a lot going for it. It has a small footprint making it perfect for a localized setup near one’s listen chair. The fit and finish of the case, volume knob and input and output connectors a top self. The optional power supply, which I purchased, is in a matching case with a unique connection cord running between it and the amp and a standard IEC removeable power cord running to the wall plug. The low distortion power output of the Class-A amp is more than adequate to drive the Arya headphones to deafening volume levels. I found the volume knob rarely went past the 9 o’clock position to achieve my desired listen volume. The sound quality was exceptional with extremely low background noise providing a velvety black void from which low the level musical details and the soundstage emerged. I had always heard that tubed headphone amplifiers gave the music more life, so I decided to buy one and see if the hype was real. I chose the Auris Audio HA-2SF Tube Headphone Amplifier based on reviews, recommendations, and price point. The amplification is provided by a Electro Harmonix 12AU7A (ECC82) input tube driving a matched quad set of JJ Electronics ECC99 dual triode tubes (2 tubes per channel). The output is stated to be 2 Watts. Out of the box, the sonic performance was clean and very neutral, but not fantastic. I ran the amp for approximately 80 hours filament on time and 50 hours with music playing into the Arya headphones. At this point, the soundstage opened getting somewhat wider and deeper than the “Gilmore Lite Mark II”. The space from which the music emanated was bigger and more engulfing. I expect the sound to improve even more with time. The hype is real, and this Auris Audio HA-2SF Tube Headphone Amplifier is fantastic! A couple of comments about some of the amplifier features: • The toggle switch on the back of the unit increases the gain significantly to be used for low input source signals. I’m running it in the low gain setting and the volume knob is turned up to ~ 50 percent. • The VU meters on the front panel are said to be indicating power output, but they seem to be more reactive to the magnitude of the input signal. You won’t see much movement except on the low gain setting with the volume knob at 50 percent or more. On the high gain setting the needles barely move. • This is a single ended amplifier topology, so the use of balance cables will not improve the sound quality much. If you have them already, you can use them, but don’t waste your money buying new balanced cables. Get some good single ended cables."
