The Ananda Nano provides a massive sonic upgrade. The Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm at its core is based on the famous Susvara design - resulting in much lower distortion, higher transient response, and double improvement of dynamics and details. The Ananda Nano is easier to drive and perfect for portable devices.
Since the conductor layer (voice coil) on the diaphragm of the planar headphone is evenly distributed on the surface of the diaphragm, the electromagnetic force that drives the diaphragm to vibrate and produce sound acts much more uniformly than the voice cool acts on the surface of the cone-type diaphragm of the dynamic headphone. Ultimately, the phase distortion is much lower, the spatial information of the sound reproduction suffers less loss than dynamic headphones, while providing a much larger sound stage and better positioning.
The result? Ananda Nano has a wide frequency range - 5Hz to 55kHz. The three-dimensional sound field wraps around the listener’s ears, with the positioning and imaging of musical instruments are as precise as if experienced in a live performance.
Unlike the sound waves created by a conventional magnet, the special shape of Stealth Magnets enables the waves to pass through the magnets without generation interference. HIFIMAN’s advanced magnet design is acoustically transparent, dramatically reducing wave diffraction turbulence that degrades the integrity of the sound waves. The reduced distortion yields pure sonic output that is accurate and full-range.
High sensitivity that allows use with virtually any smartphone or portable audio device. Low distortion and amazing sound quality.

"It’s an ok headphone for dynamics , surprisingly you don’t see planars at this price range with the dynamic bass it has . Mids were nice and the highs were nice. Neutral tuning with warm bass. My deal breaker after I bought it, was that it’s slow compared to other dynamic, planar and estats headphones in its range. The soundstage is tall but not wide enough for me. So I returned it"
"It took nearly a week to resolve a few carrier issues with Fedex, but when I eventually got my hands on the Ananda Nano's I was very happy with their build quality. I use these as my daily headphones, and spend upwards of 6 hours per day wearing them. They are snug on the sides, and adjustable vertically, so any discomfort I felt has been ironed out, and I've been very happy since. Sound wise I was happy, but a bit perplexed, as I had to download a mixer program to adjust my computer's output levels. The range for human speech and power-chords in rock songs seemed nigh impossible to hear at first. Boosting those ranges helped quite a bit, and now I have this mixer program running at all times. I use Discord for work, and am in calls often. Microphone quality in calls like these vary wildly, and I've noticed that when someone with a bad microphone speaks, my Ananda Nano's have an odd resonance in the left ear. I've never noticed this in music or in any other sort of listening application though. Overall, I've been happy with this purchase, I've had a few times when listening to music, or when playing games, where I've "felt" sounds coming from behind me and making me turn around to make sure."
"bass might be a bit light for some music but can still hit hard. if you have a super wide head the clamp might be a bit much, for me out of the box it took about 2 hours of use to loosen up enough to not bother me. super responsive and solid staging. it has been my daily driver for almost 2 weeks for gaming and music and am not disappointed."
"These Nano's are similar to Jade II's actually! Both sound clean/flat and a pretty much same shape and headband. The Jade II's are lighter and have less clamping force on your head which makes them more comfortable though: possibly the most comfortable headphone I've owned. These Nano's aren't bad but definitely not on my list of most comfortable. As far as sound: they both sound pretty similar. I'd say if you already have an electrostatic amp: the Jades may be better choice if you can EQ and have a powerful electrostatic amp as you'll be adding a lot of low-end EQ. For most people, the Nano is a smarter choice as it's pretty close if not better depending on taste. Stax L500MkII's aren't bad either but I personally prefer Jade II over the Stax though as they are more comfortable. With only a little EQ to tame a few high peaks and raise the low end a bit this sounds pretty flat/natural. Probably a good upgrade from Sundara or HD600-type headphones for mixing/mastering. Even without EQ it sounds fine though."
"Good Headphone. Fit is mostly good. They're big. The earcups are quite large, but usually stay in place. They're still breaking in, but, i'm more pleased with the sound as time goes on. A little burn in and patience is needed. I like to eq them just a little, but, for me, they sound fantastic! I'm looking to upgrade my amp/dac next. Sounds good through my Fiio K7 Pro. I then ran them through the Cayin RU7 into the K7, and its a lot better to me, but i feel the Nano's want more. The Nano's sound great though. Nice clear, smooth, detailed sound. Comfort and fit is my only quibble. It's not bad though. Thumbs up!"
"TLDR: If you like the HiFiman sound, these are an amazing value and you should buy them. However, if you're treble sensitive, beware. Up front, I will disclose that it turns out that I'm personally not a fan of the HiFiman house sound - their treatment of treble bothers me. However, I'm attempting to leave a star rating and review that corrects for this fact. In other words, if you don't have a distaste for the HiFiman house sound, I believe these are definitely 5 star headphones in terms of price/performance. The combination of speed, precision, and overall musicality is truly excellent at this price point. In fact, this is the only HiFiman headphone, including the HE1000 Stealth (owned) and Susvara (very brief listening session) where I simply forgot about the headphones and just enjoyed the music at times. Yes, the HE1000 Stealth has a clear edge in detail retrieval. However, in terms of simply kicking back and getting lost in the music, I'd take the Ananda Nanos. On the lower side, one point of comparison is the Sundara closed-back - the Ananda Nanos are so vastly superior that it's not even worth talking about. Please spend the extra money. Compared to the OG, non-stealth Ananda, I found the Nanos to be more fun and engaging. The non-stealth Ananda did feel a bit more open and spacious to me, but overall the Nanos had more of an ability to immerse me in the music. I bought these open-box with a coupon - if you manage to score them like that, these are an absolutely spectacular, possibly unmatched value. Even at full-price, they come highly recommended as long as you don't have an aversion to the HiFiman sound."
"You can experience a transformation in sound quality by removing the black cloth on the outside of the headphone drivers and sealing the areas where air leaks from the front chamber."
