Great value for the money
"Great value for the money for planar headphones. Excellent detail with well controlled low end. Doesn't get harsh on top end."
The new Edition XS expands on it’s predecessor’s achievements with several essential upgrades. Pair it with a great system like the ZEN Signature Set HFM to get the most out of it!
“Edition XS brings the depth and range of well-recorded music to an affordably priced headphone.”
Edition XS features HIFIMAN's all new NEO Supernano diaphragm and stealth magnet technology which give it a wider more natural sound stage than its predecessor. Thus making this advanced magnet structure acoustically invisible which yields a pure accurate full-range sonic output.

Plus a light weight, ergonomically accurate headband to offer maximum comfort for hours of listening. "Great value for the money for planar headphones. Excellent detail with well controlled low end. Doesn't get harsh on top end."
"The HiFiMan Edition XS headphones are a great deal if you’re after some killer sound. With their planar magnetic drivers, you get super clear audio with a wide soundstage—everything sounds well-separated and detailed. The bass is punchy without overpowering, mids are smooth, and the highs are crisp but not too sharp. They’re also really comfortable, thanks to the lightweight design and large, soft ear cups, so you can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Just keep in mind they’re open-back, so they’ll leak sound and aren’t the best if you’re in a noisy place. Overall, these are an awesome pick for anyone who loves high-quality sound."
"I bought the Edition XS 3/11/23. Wanted to wait a while to give em some break in time. And time to listen to various music genres begore leaving a review. Having started with the HE400se, the XS was a definite improvement. I'm delighted with the sound. And they have come down in price for current buyers. At $379, they are an absolute steal!! Buy a set & ENJOY!! 🎶"
"The value you got from this headphone is outstanding! Comfort wise, it is pretty good, although it is not the lightest headphone. In terms of sound, mid and high is very clear, and the bass is deep. I deduct one star because of the build quality. From day 1, you will notice the rustling plastic sound that is coming from the planar driver and diaphragm when you put on your headphone."
"Price to performance is simply outrageous"
"I listened to these headphones at CanJam Chicago and I knew I had to buy them. They are analytical, transparent and clean, with enjoyable sound staging and imaging, as if you had strapped a good pair of speakers to the sides of your head. Eric has been nothing but helpful in assisting to ensure my setup was able to properly drive and power these headphones, while troubleshooting issues I had initially. Thank you again, Eric, for all the support! I will definitely buy all headphone related gear from HeadAmp in the future."
"I loved the headphones. The sound quality is fantastic but the build quality of hifiman isn't the beat. I reccomend headamp for sennheiser and audeze headphones"
"I've been a fan of planar technology since buying my Magnepan MGIIIAs in 1988. Had never owned any planar headphones so I looked at Hifiman. I bought a used set for their HE400se, already broken in and I really liked them. Upgraded the stock grill to ones that provided more "air to breathe". That made a difference. Then I decided to try a model up the Hifiman lineup. Chose the Edition XS. Was pleasantly surprised! This model has a better Soundstage with more detail. This can only get better with use. I also like the fit of the XS better than any other headphones I've used. I recommend the Hifiman Edition XS."
"I purchased the open box Edition XS and am very happy with my experience. The condition of the headphones and box was excellent, almost new. The headphones themselves are excellent. I read many reviews ahead of time to decide if the cost was worth it. I can easily say I have never had better headphones and heard so many things in music that I did not previously. I have the Phillips Fidelio X2 and the HIFIMAN Edition XS blow them away. My MOBO can drive them from my computer and I also have a monoprice liquid spark for a little extra oomph. The one thing to be aware of is the fit. If you have a smaller head, you should probably seriously consider the Ananda. I have a medium to medium-large head, am bald, and these are just right."
"Been listening to these for the past 3 days and these really do give a taste of HiFi for midfi prices. Comfort is great and sound is great. Only thing I have a problem is the typical Hifiman build quality, which, to me, seems a little lacking. not necessarily cheap but it is the only complaint I have with these cans."
