CS43198 × 8 : Octa DAC Chip Matrix

The CS43198, a Cirrus Logic flagship DAC chip, has an excellent dynamic range, outstanding resolution of micro details, and an impressively low noise floor, adding up to exceptional performance. The Octa DAC Chip Matrix with our implementation guarantees both superb sound quality and DAP leading measurements. THD+N hits -123dB, the best among portable players. This groundbreaking achievement sets a new standard in the industry. The more the merrier. Taking the advantage of quantity to achieve better quality and achieving extraordinary results.

FPGA-MASTER 2.0 : The Evolved Audio System Controller

After years of algorithm development, our FPGA-Master has entered generation 2.0. As the audio system controller, it directly requests audio data from the SoC and plays a major role in signal reproduction and maintaining signal integrity. It synchronizes and generates all audio clocks utilizing two NDK femtosecond oscillators to achieve a fully synchronized single clock source. The FPGA-Master 2.0 also haspicosecond-level precise control and adjusts the DAC clock, data, and constructs the FIR filter.

FIR Filter : The DAC Matrix Magician

Thanks to the new algorithm of FPGA-MASTER2.0, the potential of the 8pcs CS43198 can be further explored and developed. Synchronous parallel output mode: This reduces "discrete distortion" between DACs to improve overall performance. FIR 2x mode, FIR 4x mode: With FPGA-MASTER 2.0, picosecond-level precise control and adjustment of the DAC clock and data is achieved, making each DAC data stream independently adjustable. Through the "delay parallel" of 4 DACs, the DACs form a hardware analog FIR filter, which averages the differences between multiple DACs, reducing distortion and effectively improving sound details and realism.

Android11 + Mango OS / Open OS + Closed Linux OS

The DX260 comes with the latest Android 11 system, allowing you to easily install streaming APPs for a seamless Android experience. The DX260 efficiently bypasses the SRC at the system level. Whether it's Mango Player or a third-party streaming APP, you can take advantage of the system-level "Non-SRC" feature giving you the highest quality sound from the recording. The DX260 features the Mango OS, a Linux-based audio system that has been meticulously designed for exceptional audio playback. It has accumulated a lot of optimization to the underlying driver algorithms, which focuses on audio playback. This pure sound system has no WiFi or Bluetooth interference, it has lower EMI, and a purer listening experience.

New ID Design : User Removable Back Cover

Introducing our new ID design, complete with the return of volume control guards and a more industrial look. The back cover is easily removable with total battery access making replacement of the battery very convenient.

Great quality player

"I purchased the DX260 in April 2025 and my first impression is that it’s a solid well made unit. It feels like a big chunk of aluminum (in a good way) that’ll stand the test of time. Having the ability to replace the battery is pretty neat. I couldn’t find another quality DAP that had that feature available without having to ship it somewhere. That sound hopefully increase its life drastically. The UI has all the standard features of other DAPs, however you can load just the Mango player to have only the core functionality of the DAP working. I assume that’ll increase how long the battery should last. The sound is a lot better with the 4. 4mm headphone jack. I bought an adapter to convert it to 3. 5mm. Definitely buy the green iBasso case. It fits snug and is very high quality leather."

First DAP and simply shocked on what I was missing out on

"I gave into the hype of a DAP because I needed a mobile amp and I'm shocked. This definitely brings up the quality of listening to music without question versus a normal phone or computer. Ever since I was young, I loved quality headphones but never been fortunate enough to buy anything over $50 or so. I've been doing really well lately and wanted to advantage of end of year discounts. I bought Sennheiser 660se2 to pair and Ultimate ears 11csx, all on sale of course, and the difference is not debatable. My wife and several friends and family members can clearly tell in a blind test review. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and HeadAmp was amazing at getting it to me fast and in very good packaging. I highly recommend shopping with HeadAmp and I highly recommend this DAP. The battery is good enough for the day if you happen to listen to it for the entire day and its extremely fast at charging. It is very easy to use and understand, also the advanced features are easy to catch up on."

i Basso DX 260 recent purchase

DX260

"Not my first iBasso. This DAP sounds amazing, better than any I have heard and I have listened to quite a few. The software is a bit quirky navigating between Android Mango and Mango itself. But the worst thing is that you can handle this DAP while playing without inadvertently turning off the song you are playing. The volume button is the culprit. Barely touching and depressing the button stops the music. Terrible design flaw."

"iBasso quality in a beautiful small package."

Premium and high performance in a "economical" form factor

"It works great. Replaceable battery and the unique 8x DAC system differentiate it. It's has a decent display, snappy processor, and 2 easy to use OS depending on what you prefer. The build is good. The only point I take off is the volume control knob is a bit odd. I might contact support about it. The volume knob rubs against the body and it has become more "smooth" in the tactile feedback but there might be some actual metal stripping happening. I see flakes of metal from where it rubs coming off."

A very well round great sounding player.

"Thank you Justin for a great deal and impeccable service. Buying from Headamp has always been a great experience. The DX260 to my ears is likely the best all rounder DAP for under $1000. It sounds great with plenty of power to drive my beloved HD800S very well. It also excels at driving my IER-Z1R. The sound is clean, natural and clear with plenty of macro and micro dynamics. What separate this player from some of my most favorite DAPs such as the much more expensive iBasso DX320 Max is the very last bit of musical details and sense of depth and precise audio imaging and spatial cues which is clearly better on the DX320 Max. What I find surprising about the DX260 is its USB digital out performance to a dedicated DAC. To my ears, the DX260 has the best USB C digital out implementation compared to my other DAPs. The list includes DX240, DX220Max, DX300 Max Ti, DX320X, DX320 Max, Sony NW-ZX507, and ZX707. Its USB C digital output is as good if not slightly better sounding than the on-board coaxial output especially when playing DSD files. I normally prefer coaxial output from my other iBasso players compared to the USB C digital out."
