DAP leader
"Great DAP for objective measuring. SNE THD and crosstalk are class leaders."
The updated iBasso DX260MK2 digital audio player is the cutting edge in portable audio.
The iBasso DX260MK2 marks a bold step forward in portable audio, building on the legacy of the DX260 with groundbreaking engineering and refined design. At the heart of the MK2 is an advanced Octa DAC Matrix, delivering clarity, depth, and precision through eight Cirrus Logic flagship DACs.
iBasso’s new FPGA-Master 2.0 system ensures ultra-accurate signal control and timing, unlocking new levels of detail and realism in every track. With a streamlined user experience powered by both Android and Mango OS, a refreshed industrial design, and a user-removable battery, the DX260MK2 is a redefinition of what a DAP can be.
The CS43198, a Cirrus Logic flagship DAC chip, has an excellent dynamic range, outstanding resolution of micro details, and an impressively low noise floor, adding up to exceptional performance. With iBasso's implementation, the Octa DAC Chip Matrix guarantees both superb sound quality and DAP leading measurements. THD+N hits -123dB, the best among portable players.
After years of algorithm development, iBasso's FPGA-Master has entered generation 2.0. As the audio system controller, it directly requests audio data from the SoC and plays a major role in signal reproduction and maintaining signal integrity.
It synchronizes and generates all audio clocks utilizing two NDK femtosecond oscillators to achieve a fully synchronized single clock source. The FPGA-Master 2.0 also haspicosecond-level precise control and adjusts the DAC clock, data, and constructs the FIR filter.
Thanks to the new algorithm of FPGA-MASTER 2.0, the potential of the Octa CS43198 DAC chip can be further explored and developed. Synchronous parallel output mode reduces discrete distortion between DACs to improve overall performance.
FIR 2x mode, FIR 4x mode. With FPGA-MASTER 2.0, picosecond-level precise control and adjustment of the DAC clock and data is achieved, making each DAC data stream independently adjustable. Through the "delay parallel" of 4 DACs, the DACs form a hardware analog FIR filter, which averages the differences between multiple DACs, reducing distortion and effectively improving sound details and realism.
When connected to a USB charger that delivers sufficient power, the power supply is allocated into two distinct routes. One route directly powers the DX260MK2 and overrides the internal battery so the battery isn't being used. The other path charges the battery and completely bypasses it when it is fully charged. This design strategically ensures optimal battery protection and longevity.
The DX260MK2 comes with the latest Android 13 system, allowing you to easily install streaming APPs for a seamless Android experience. The DX260MK2 efficiently bypasses the SRC at the system level. Whether it's Mango Player or a third-party streaming APP, you can take advantage of the system-level "Non-SRC" feature giving you the highest quality sound from the recording.
The DX260MK2 features the Mango OS, a Linux-based audio system that has been meticulously designed for exceptional audio playback. It has accumulated a lot of optimization to the underlying driver algorithms, which focuses on audio playback. This pure sound system has no WiFi or Bluetooth interference, it has lower EMI, and a purer listening experience.

"A good clean sound dap with solid bass. UI is responsive. Light and portable. Good for on the go."
"I’ve been enjoying the DX260MK2 for a few weeks now. I’ll get it out of the way now, it sounds amazing. It has plenty of power to drive just about anything. What I’m not so excited about is the battery life. It doesn’t last too long, at least not as long as advertised, but I do use it in high gain with a balanced output most of the time. It’s plenty fast for my needs. It would be the perfect DAP once iBass adds a system wide EQ and bit perfect playback regardless of app (à la Hiby)."
"Great unit."
"So, like some others, I started off with the dx180 only to realize that the dx260mk2 was probably where I needed to be all along. Ibasso products are so good in sound, it took me a lot of time to decide which one to go with. While the dx180 had better weight in tonality and louder sound performance. The Dx260 had better resolution and wider soundstaging. The difference is about 10-15% and at first I thought that wasn't enough to spend the extra $600. But the deciding factor was the Battery life and quality of build. The dx260mk2 was just made better in the quality of buttons and overall density. The unit felt premium in your hands, and the screen, for some reason, seems to stand out more with the silver finish vs the black finish on the dx180. But the biggest thing was the Battery life. It was like night and day differences. I've gone so long on the battery with the dx260mk2 vs the dx180. So, longer battery life just made me spend more time with it and less time thinking about having to charge it up before I went to bed every night. At the end of the day, I just got more attached. I can't say you will feel the same or that the price over the dx180 will justify itself to others, but for me . . . the quality difference, battery life, and resolution were the things for me."
"Being new to daps wasn’t a problem because I had the phenomenal team at Head-amp. com to walk me through the process (thank you Tim) I originally purchased the ibasso dx180 and after painless and seemless process, I ended up purchasing the ibasso dx260 Mk2. Boy am I a happy camper! Thank you Headamp. com!"
"I originally purchased the Ibasso DX180 from here. It was an awesome entryway for me. Then I saw the DX260MK2 just released and wanted to upgrade. Headamp worked with me on the return and upgrade to this player. Their customer service made the process a breeze. Extremely happy with the upgrade and will definitely do business here again. Top notch all the way around!"
