Just add Remote Control

Beneath its classy exterior, the ZEN Stream is a technological streamer-de-force. It has one purpose – to send music from the Internet to your DAC with no loss of quality. True hi-res performance of PCM384/DSD256 via WiFi/LAN. Just add your smart device as a remote and away you go. Optimised open-source architecture – works with multiple dedicated platforms, completely and perfectly future-proofed as it is constantly updated. Ease of use + audiophile implementation. It is the bee’s knees of Streamers.

Warp speed tech.

ZEN Stream is a true ground-up design by iFi — the hardware and software implementation is quite exceptional:

  • Two SuperSpeed USB3.0 ports with Active Noise Cancellation II
  • S/PDIF out with the iPurifier built-in
  • Power supply with Silent Power tech
  • iFi software developed with Volumio open-source as the starting point, then coded and optimised by us to achieve the purest streaming software bar none

These are some of the factors behind why the ZEN Stream is at the cutting-edge handling PCM384/DSD256 on LAN and WiFi (802.11n, with 100Mbps on 5Ghz).

‘Exclusive’ for your ears only.

The ZEN Stream has one of the most fully-optimised software platforms in the world. From the device’s drivers, to the kernel (the heart of the operating system), to the shell (which interfaces with the kernel), to the applications and the user interface — everything is fully optimised for seamless operation and excellent sonic performance. An ingenious part of the ZEN Stream’s design is the ability to select between ‘Exclusive’ modes – individual settings dedicated to specific modes of operation to deliver the purest possible performance. All other programs are shut down – to minimise ‘software jitter’ — an often overlooked aspect that negatively impacts the quality of computer audio playback.

  • All-in-one (AIO) covers all modes
  • DLNA streaming
  • NAA streaming
  • Roon Bridge streaming (Roon Ready coming soon)
  • Tidal streaming

These modes ensure that the ZEN Stream is not merely a ‘jack of all trades’, but a master of all too.

Great Value for an Audiophile Network Bridge/Streamer

"I've tried many streamers and network bridge options over the years. All were far more expensive than the Zen Stream (Bel Canto e.one, Bluesound Node, Cambridge Audio CXN100, NAD C700, etc.). I listen to a lot of jazz and singer/songwriter music but also listen to some classic rock, reggae, alt country, and rap. The Zen Stream immediately noted improvements in clarity, warmth, and soundstage. I find it reliably there to stream from both Airplay and Tidal Connect. I love it! Other components in my system: Rogue Audio RP-1 preamp, Luxman M-4000 power amp, Cambridge Audio AXC35 as a CD transport, Rega P1+ turntable, SMSL M500 mk3 dac."

Nice Streamer

"The Zen stream does its job well and sounds great. The only complaint I can say is that it won’t pass DSD 256 to my Lampizator DAC. It seems to be limited to 128 in some setups."

Little difficult setup but solid streamer

"I bought this so I can get my computer off of my existing power conditioning. Took a bit to figure out the setup and updating because it couldn't update through its own wifi ability. But otherwise works fine after that."

Solid Streamer for a good price!

"I didn't want to go too deeply into the Streamer world and so when a buddy bought one of these and I had a listen, I had to grab one. It sounds incredible - a real upgrade from my previous digital setup. Running it into a Rogue Cronus Magnum III and a set of Harbeth Compact 7s. Incredible. Highly recommended!"

Great Value

"I have been on the hunt for a better streamer. I have home auditioned: Bluesound Node 2i (with linear power supply modification) Innuos Zen (with ifi power elite 15V) Chord 2go/2yu (with and without linear power supply) Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt from iPhone iPhone Camera connection kit All going to a Chord TT2/M-SCALER stack with Jotunheim R and Raal SR1a. Sound quality only, the Innuos is best: fuller notes, more relaxed, and more pronounced bass. Second best is the Zen Stream. It’s clean and neutral. Functionality is a mixed bag. My must haves are Roon and Apple AirPlay support. Lack of AirPlay support excludes the Innuos. The hardwired iPhone options are fast, reliable, and fiddly exactly because of the hardwiring. Getting unrelated iPhone sounds is also annoying. It also excludes my Roon server from my chain unless I AirPlay into my phone which limits resolution unnecessarily. The Node2i does support AirPlay 2. But the implementation is flaky. Slow to connect at best. At worst I must reboot to successfully connect. The 2go/2yu would have justified its price premium only if my DAC was a Chord Hugo2. So that leaves the Zen Stream. Its AirPlay support is AirPlay 1 and fast and reliable. My quest for a streamer will continue only because I’m curious what a Rose Hifi, Auralic, Aurender, and so on could add. But, my suspicion is that the Zen Stream is close."

iFi Audio Quality Doesn't Disappoint

"Fast shipment with the stream on my LAN network. Streamer is playing excellent audio via USB to my DAC with the Tidal master service. The iFi app still needs some work. It crashes but I think they will work it out soon."
