Based on Meze Advar

Alba shares the same design language as Advar, however he internal chamber of Advar has been modified to fit the 2-pin connection. Also, the materials and technologies are different: the Alba is made with zinc alloy and anodized aluminium, through diecast, compared to Advar's stainless steel, made through metal injection moulding.

Fantastic Value, Great Sound

"I travel a lot for work, which means a reliable pair of travel IEMs is non-negotiable. Especially since I was replacing Moondrops that I lost. The Alba has become my go-to. Out of the box the sound was good. I ran them through Wavelet to dial in my exact preference and that was all I needed. For a single dynamic driver, the Alba hits well above its weight. What sold me almost instantly is the fit. These are small IEMS. I have other pairs that sound great but get uncomfortable after an hour. The Alba disappears in the ear. Long flights, long layovers, back-to-back travel days — I forget they're in. For how much time I spend in transit, that matters as much as the sound."

"A very comfortable in ear monitor that feels durable in its aluminum construction and delivers excellent sound quality from one driver which is impressively tuned out of the box. Great package over all since it includes a zippered carrying pouch, four pairs of different sized ear cups, a usb-c to 3. 5mm DAC adapter and 2 pin cables."

Pearlescent Perfection

"The Meze Albas are my introduction to the world of IEMs. They pack a lot smaller than my headphones while still delivering clear and enjoyable sound. Their compact shape fits well into my ear, and the casing has a beautiful pearlescent finish. It also comes with high-quality accessories. I love the 99 Neo & Classics…

"With the silver upgrade cables & the DDHIFI 4. 4mm cable. The Alba missed the mark for me. No low end. Too bright overall. Unpleasant listening experience for me. I sold them right away. IEMS with no bass kind of defeats the purpose. These have less bass than open back over ear headphones. HD650 & HD599 etc… My favorite iems are the blue Dunu Falcon Ultras. Highly recommend them. I prefer AirPods 3,4 & Pro 2 over the Albas. Very disappointing for me."

The build quality of the IEM and the included wires and adapters are what you would expect from a great company like Meze. "The First Light", ALBA IEMs

"My recent purchase of the most enjoyable Meze 105 AERs got me thinking about trying some new IEMs. After looking around and liking how the AERs sound, I thought, yeah, let’s get those new Meze ALBA’s. I did learn Alba translates to “The First Light” in Romanian. Is this any indication how they’ll sound? Meze is a little secretive about their building materials other than Alba’s dynamic driver is sized at 10. 8mm with an impedance of 32Ω (109dB/Vrms) resulting in a frequency response of 15Hz-25kHz. I did notice they perform well with any amount of power. One thing you will notice is the shell design. I like it because with its lightweight it fits very well and is comfortable, providing very good isolation. Their thin and supple stock cable comes with a 3. 5mm plug and a 2 pin connection. Included in their package is a USB C to 3. 5mm adapter with a built in DAC/amp. Nice touch. (Note: I used my Meenova USB C (female) to Lightning (male) OTG adapter for my iPhone with success. ) You also get a white leather type carry case and a pack of various sized ear tips. Upon listening I noticed the Alba’s provide a well-balanced sound, meaning the bass is ample, the mids are neutral and the treble delivers a clear detail. Overall, their musical sound is rich with no harshness in the treble region. I appreciate bass in my music since I believe it’s the foundation of a musical presentation. Well, the Alba’s bass is very well controlled. It works for me. The midrange comes through clean, neutral, lush with good clarity. Vocals are excellent, very natural. The treble comes through with energy and a bit of air, very smooth. The Meze ALBA’s don’t require much power, while delivering a natural music presentation. After listening to my new Alba’s I must say, they really do shine “The First Light” on music recordings."
