Sennheiser’s HD 600 series has long been the standard for natural tone, thanks to our dedication to continuously improving the open-back concept. We later introduced the 500 series to bring those qualities to a wider audience than ever before, with a soundstage that immerses listeners in their music. The HD 620S combines the DNA of both headphone families, bringing the best of each to a closed chassis. With our reference-grade 38 mm, 150-ohm transducer and ultra-light aluminum voice coil, the listener is drawn in by the exceptional impulse response while the surrounding world fades away.

Carefully Designed Closed-Back

Where many closed headphones struggle is where the HD 620 excels, thanks to a baffle and damping that have been carefully developed to preserve the driver’s detailed, airy sound without impeding its natural tonality. Bass and sub-bass are substantial yet meticulously balanced thanks to a compliant surround, which has been adopted from the venerable HD 660S2. Lows and mids maintain their respective distance while vocal reproduction is intimately true—no frequency bands are obscured—even while listening to the most complex music. The remarkably open baffle and angled transducers expand the stereo image to an almost panoramic sound field, ensuring audiophiles no longer need trade an impressive soundstage for privacy. This design mimics the wide, triangular presentation that loudspeakers offer, while each instrument is defined in its own unique space, no matter how nuanced. The HD 620S chassis is lightweight yet familiar, bolstered by premium touches that will deliver its unique acoustic signature for years to come. Both the steel-reinforced headband sliders and earcup covers add timeless appeal and long-term durability to a silhouette sculpted for all-day wearing comfort. Supple earpads made from artificial leather are both an aesthetic and acoustic choice, providing a private listening session wherever you are. Even after hours of intimate listening, your ears are kept comfortable thanks to internal venting and the spacious earcup. A detachable 1.8 m twist-lock cable is terminated with a single-ended 3.5 mm plug and comes with a screw-on 6.3 mm adapter. For seamless integration into high-performance audiophile setups, the HD 620S can also be upgraded to an optional balanced cable with a 4.4 mm plug.
