Simply beautiful sound, and the lengths Sennheiser will go to achieve it

That is the story of the IE 600. These in-ear devices not only reproduce the detail and emotion of a recording, they transcend it. Because each earphone is a masterpiece. From the hand-finished amorphous metal housing to high-end audio components developed and made by Sennheiser, everything is manufactured to the strictest tolerances. The balanced frequency response and extremely durable materials have been engineered to provide clear, natural voicing and a unique aesthetic that will retain its good looks for decades.

Balanced, neutral voicing

To achieve a natural sound reminiscent of the neutrality provided by high-end studio monitors, our engineers carefully tuned the acoustic back volume inside the nozzle of the IE 600.

Discover new accents and details

This voicing lends a presence and intimacy that brings listeners closer to the music, allowing them to discover new accents and details. However, arriving at this level of poise and naturalness was not without challenges. When similar sounds occur in a track simultaneously, for instance, it can become difficult for the human ear to resolve all the nuances. The IE 600 integrates dual two chamber absorbers (D2CA) which capture and attenuate these masking frequencies, revealing even the finest textures of your music.

Stronger than steel, built to last

Researchers have worked for many years to perfect amorphous metals for manufacturing. The wait was worth it — the zirconium alloy from Heraeus Amloy Technologies we chose for the IE 600 has triple the hardness and flexural strength of high-performance steel. Shock-frozen during manufacturing, amorphous metals never have a chance to form a crystalline structure like conventional metals. The result is a lustrous, satiny surface that is extraordinary resistant against corrosion and scratches. The IE 600 housing is fabricated using metal-powder-based 3D printing that can create any shape imaginable within tight tolerances. Chambers and channels form as part of this additive manufacturing process with no milling required. However, cost does limit the potential applications of this new material. One of the only places you’ll find it — besides ultra-high-end products like the IE 600 — is in the drilling head of a NASA Mars Rover where extraordinary resilience in extreme conditions is required.

Get closer to your music.

Whatever type of music moves you, with the IE 600 it moves you more. Enjoy not only the notes, but also the subtle scratch of bow on string, the faint chirp of fingers gliding to the next chord on the guitar. Exquisitely neutral acoustic voicing brings your music closer, makes it more alive and vivid, yet pure and natural. Within this delicate balance, the IE 600 nevertheless manages to incorporate powerful yet fast and accurate low-end response. It’s all in a day’s work for Sennheiser’s TrueResponse transducer, the single 7 mm driver responsible for the extra-wide frequency range and ultra-low distortion of the IE 600.

Automated manufacturing, handcrafted finish

Production of the amorphous metal housing takes place in Germany and includes both automated and manual steps. A computer-controlled laser sinters a thin coat of metal powder, welding the molten alloy to the already hardened material beneath it. Layer by layer, the part builds up to its ultimate shape. A technician then removes any artifacts of the manufacturing process by hand. After thorough cleaning, steel shot blasting, polishing, and sophisticated surface treatment, the housing assumes its final, extremely durable aesthetic. Even daily use leaves practically no evidence in the form of scratches or wear.

A faithful companion on your sonic journey

Each TrueResponse transducer is assembled by Sennheiser and built to last. One of the most advanced production lines of its type in the world, our manufacturing facility has a singular purpose — to exceed the expectations of audiophiles. That’s how we consistently achieve channel matching that makes left-right differences nearly undetectable. And total harmonic distortion to rival anything on the market. All this product quality is cocooned inside extremely resilient amorphous metal, ensuring your IE 600 earphones will remain in mint condition for countless years. With robust protection against corrosion and marks from wear, the IE 600 was designed to keep delivering acoustic — and visual — joy for decades.

The comfort of a tailored fit

The IE 600 packs big sound into a small, ergonomic package. The gold-plated MMCX connectors are recessed in the housing for greater stability and guidance. They support cable diameters of 4.8 mm and smaller, allowing you to plug into a wide range of audio sources as well as hi-fi components with balanced outputs. Choose between paramid reinforced unbalanced and balanced cables: 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm are included, 2.5 mm are sold separately. Two different styles of earbud tips — silicone and memory foam — are provided in three sizes to establish a comfortable seal in any ear. Flexible, adjustable ear hooks further enhance the long-lasting comfort.

Hit the mark with Sennheiser IE 600

"Design and Accessories: The IEM came with two cables: 3. 5mm & 4. 4mm balance, 3 silicon tip sizes and another 3 pairs foams. As for comfort, they are kind of comfy, at least for me, as I have sensitive ears. The flexible part of the cable also helps to keep the IEM in place. Although I read that it's better to get third party cable or eartips, but I am satisfied with the stock for the time being. Sound: I'm new to the audiophile equipment. Last time I bought a wired headphone was more than 10 years, SONY MDR XB500. Still using them, but they need new cushions. I'm using the IE600 with SONY Walkman NW-ZX707 with power output of 230 mw @ 16 ohms, enough to drive in ear phones. With already tweaked equalizer, the sound was above average. Not what I wanted, but decent. I made a new equalizer profile just for the IE600. The result was enough for me. The highs were exactly where I need them. Not too high where they ring my ear, but enough to tickle them. Vocals were emphasised enough. I can hear the lyrics and the singer voice very clearly. As for the bass, it depends on the source. Sometimes it is well pronounced, and clean, other time it is weak. I even made another profile just for increased bass. The sound stage was wide enough but not as wide as open ear phones. conclusion: I'm satisfied with IE600. The build, the feel, and above all else, the sound quality. The separation of instruments were distinguishable."

Great comfort & sound, not so great build quality

"These are the most comfortable universal IEMs I’ve ever tried—a fact that extend to the ie300 and ie900 as well. The sound signature is smooth and non-fatiguing over long periods of time. I’m deducting one star because these IEMs seem a bit fragile and the QC is not where it needs to be. I’m receiving a replacement pair (Headamp team has been GREAT), but it’s still a bit annoying. Sound quality and comfort make it worthwhile though."

An absolute beauty inside out!

"I'm lucky enough to own some of the very good IEMs and headphones ranging from 7hz Timless, Raptgo Hook-X, Fiio FH7, 64audio U12t, Focal Clear OG, Hifiman Arya Stealh, Meze 109 Pro, and Meze Elite. The Fiio FH7 and Arya Stealth have never been my favorites due to their timbre and "dry" charateristic. I love iems/headphones having an overall neutral tonal balance with a touch of sub bass and air up top. I was surprised that the IE600, at this price range, not only achievs that, but also excels in its ability to resolve music with an amazing sound stage and imaging. The IE600 can even rival my beloved U12t. It's the tight-thumbing bass and the stage that make me reach for the IE600 more than the rest. With some good recording songs, I enjoy the music with IE600 as much as I do with the Meze Elite. Also, it's the most comfortable IEM I've ever used, and with the metal housing, it's the gem that I will keep for a long time to come. Thanks HeadAmp for your customer service, fast shipping, and competitive pricing. Now go enjoy some music!"
