Hybrid Performance

“6SN7” GT tube has been adopted in the second stage of the vacuum tube system, while custom-made low-noise dual FET is employed in the first stage. The vacuum tube 6SN7 that has become the original form of 6FQ7 realizes simple and powerful performance. The hybrid type driver has adopted the high-quality non-inductive winding resistor from VISHAY Co. as a load resistance. The clear and high slew-rate vacuum tube sound has been improved further to polish up warm and spacious reproduction.

Solid Performance

The newly developed large-sized aluminum insulator combined with new vibration-proof material and high frictional coefficient (grip power) has been employed. The friction power is so high that you almost need not hold the unit when inserting the plug of your earspeaker.

Nice Amp for L700MK2

"It sounds great pairing with my Stax L700MK2. Warmer than solid state amp but not losing details and precision. Bass is clean and punchy. First time buyer at HeadAmp. The service was excellent and they responded fast to my emails."

More STAX Perfection

"I've been building up a STAX collection lately, all through HeadAmp, including their portable amp and DAC, ear speakers, in ear monitors, and the STAX stand alone ear speaker amplifier. Everything is just above and beyond all my expectations. STAX has become my favorite manufacturer of Top of the Line/Endgame audiophile components. Besides all that, the service at HeadAmp, especially dealing with Justin, has been spectacular thus far. Do not hesitate to ask him questions. He will respond quickly and be totally honest, never trying to upsell anything on the website."

A very musical headphone amp

"This is a very good amp. Only gave it 4 stars since I have heard this and the stax D50 for comparison. The 700T is better than the D50 overall. No doubt about it. To get the best out of the 700T use the balanced inputs. AND, bypass the internal volume control. This requires you to have an additional way to control the Volume( my Mytek Manhattan II has a headphone output with a great volume control). The Stax volume control shrinks the Soundstage both horizontally and vertically. Also, the low end gets a little softer and the highs seem to be a bit rolled off. To avoid all of this use a dac with a great volume control and enjoy the glorious electrostatic sound. Mostly listen to jazz, classical, rock and ambient music. no EDM at all. Feed is from a very good to great dac and you will be rewarded with great sound. FYI you need a Torx T5 for the top screws and T8 for the side screws to remove the cover and get to the tubes and fuses."

Excellent Sound and Quality

"Excellent sound. Very detailed with a deep sound stage. It really drives my Stax headphones with ease and grace."

STAX SRM-700T(ube)

"Three words - warm, smooth, detailed. If you enjoy the "tube sound", you will love this amplifier. Walks of and leaves my D10 in every way. Works especially well with acoustic music where it adds a level of "fullness" to the sound. Even pop music is raised a level in warmth. Pairs well with the SR-007MKII."

Very Good

"Due to the unforeseen acquisition of a Stax SR-X9000, I needed an electrostatic amp I felt could drive them. I know a Blue Hawaii is an amazing choice, but I needed something else due to desk space constraints. Headamp was kind enough to allow me to demo different amp options, and the 700T was small enough for my space, yet was the best sounding to me. I’m not exactly sure if it’s the tubes, but the treble sounds much fuller compared to other options I tried.. This amp is being fed by an RME ADI-2 Dac fs and it sounds amazing. The build and finish of the unit is top notch; everything feels precise and quality controlled extremely well. This amp is a very solid choice and is definitely worth a try."

Nice Amplifier

"I purchased the SRM-007T to go with SR-007 MK-2 headphones and am very pleased with the combination. Behind the amp is an RME ADI-2 DAC fed by Roon residing on a server. The DAC is connected over USB to the server. The service from HeadAmp was excellent, I ordered the amplifier and it arrived 2 business days later. Justin played a key role in facilitating the selection and post sale questions around service. Still ordering more stuff to fill in details."

STAX 700T Amplifier

"Everyone's listening habits and musical preferences are different. That's a given. If you like classical music and jazz with a clean, clear, full, and precise sound, you'll like this amplifier. Couple it with the STAX L700MK2 ear speakers. Whatever is there you will hear as you never did before. It will be like rediscovering your music all over again. Make sure you have a good CD player and quality interconnects to complete things. I found that leaving the volume at 10 o'clock is sufficient for most listening. It sounds rich and warm to my ears. If a recording is well engineered, it will sound better. If it isn't you can't run and hide from these headphones and this amp."
