Our Take

The Audeze MM-500 was the very same headphone that was used to mix Kendrick Lamar's #1 album, "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers", at Larrabee Studios! It's hand-crafted in their Southern California workshop to provide years of reliable comfort in a package that calls out to be held, admired, and listened to. Featuring extra-plush premium leather earpads to help evenly distribute weight, an adjustable spring steel headband, and a machined aluminum structure, the MM-500 feels substantial yet lightweight. The MM-500's planar magnetic drivers provide realism that audio professionals like Manny "can't live without", which is quite an impressive feat. With lightning-fast transients, an accurate frequency response, and trusted mix translation (powered by Audeze's patented innovations), the MM-500 produces unparalleled audio quality that other headphones can only dream of.

Compatible with virtually all audio interfaces or consoles, and designed to deliver mixes that consistently translate well, the MM-500 removes your room from the equation by giving you studio-quality sound anywhere! The MM-500 is built to suit the requirements of long daily listening sessions under almost any condition. World-class studio monitor? Check. Quick reference on the go? No problem. Deep, late-night listening sessions? Done. With its ease of drive, comfortable fit, and trustworthy sound, you can count on the MM-500 to deliver in every situation. You need to hear everything at its most natural and pure state – exactly when you need it – anywhere, anytime. Manny knows the importance of headphone listening in today’s world. With its ability to go from the studio to stage, cafe to beachfront, canal to jetway, etc., the MM-500 is the reference to the soundtrack of your life. Offering studio-quality sound, always within reach, the MM-500 is truly the next level of performance in pro audio. Whether stepping up from your own LCD-X or another brand, MM-500 will be as much a part of your life as your favorite pair of sneakers.

Planar Magnetic Headphones — More Than Just a Mixing Tool

"This is the first time I’ve ever tried planar magnetic headphones. As other reviews suggested, the resolution and separation are better compared to my old Beyerdynamic T1 Gen 2. Percussion tones sound different than what I'm used to; it’s been a lot of fun revisiting my favorite tracks just to hear how the sound has changed. They are heavier than the T1, but the weight is manageable, and the build quality is solid for the price. While some call these 'professional mixing headphones,' I find them engaging enough for casual listening. The only downside is that on certain tracks, the mid-to-high treble can sound a bit 'boxy,' almost like music playing in a small tin can. Other than that, they’re great headphones and I’d definitely recommend them."

Sure winner

"Sure winner. It is the best monitoring headphone in this value range. A big step forward in sound and comfort having headphones like the LCD-X, for me it is a big improvement."

最高のヘッドホン

"このヘッドフォンはほんとうにすばらしい。中域の情報量がとても多くて、反応がクイックなんだ。 本当にスタジオのATCやAmphonで聞いているかのようなサウンドなんだ。"
