Cascade is a culmination of a 3-year engineering effort to bring the Campfire Audio signature sound to a headphone.

A Headphone by Campfire Audio

The results of that effort is Cascade, a portable, closed-back headphone that sounds and performs like it’s open. Even better; it has the unique sound you expect from a Campfire Audio headphone. Cascade is the headphone that the Campfire Audio team wanted for themselves while traveling. It folds up to a compact size and features an isolated closed-back design. Best of all it sounds excellent with your portable device and scales with ease in your home set-up.

42mm Beryllium PVD Driver

Cascade delivers exceptional musicality and openness. It has a soundstage that expands well beyond the listening space. It possesses sonic traits not found in typical closed-back headphone designs. Specially crafted custom drivers are at the heart of Cascade. Powerful and impactful sound with excellent speed and micro-detail retrieval. Superior highs extend over precise and controlled bass notes.

Premium Materials

Creating a portable audiophile headphone requires using materials that are up for the job. Lightweight forged and machined aluminum cups paired with stainless steel components. This provides added strength in the places where you need it most. The headband, joints, and pivot are all made of stainless steel. This makes the traditionally weakest parts of a headphone the strongest. The cups and hanger arms are aluminum; cast and then machined to reduce weight. With premium sheepskin ear pads that are not only comfortable but provide excellent isolation. Listen to your favorite track on the bus without disturbing your fellow passengers. Escape office boredom without complaints.

Your HiFi Companion

Designed with portable use in mind, Cascade is a durable headphone for use at home and on the go. The more you listen, the more you’ll find you’ll want to keep it with you, where ever that might be. Cascade has excellent high-frequency extension with cymbals that sparkle and expand on a wide soundstage, the mids are clear and uncolored along a bass response that is rich in texture and well defined. All qualities you won’t find in a typical closed-back design.

Hard to stop listening.

"Build quality is top notch (and comfort). Bass is forward and delightful. Cans are easy to power, even from a basic DAP. Richness of sound improves as source improves. Next up is for me to try this on my main audio rig, will update review from there."

"I have been eyeing these for a few years. I finally took the plunge and I do not regret the decision one bit. Great sound. Great quality. Great service by HeadAmp!"

Great Customer Service/Mediocre Headphone

"I really wanted to like this headphone given how much people spoke about its infinite bass extension, yet still balanced frequency response. Instead, I found the bass would bleed into the mids, dampening them and creating a very boxy sound. HeadAmp’s customer service, on the other hand, was stellar throughout the entire purchase process."

Alex T. (3/5)

Great portable headphones

"This is amazing first attempt for Cascade! These are great travel headphones, bassy, fun, light weight, decent travel case! These have a bit of a darker sound. Treble is never harsh or sibilant. Ear pads are easily replaceable, and even comes with these little filters to add or less the bass, great idea!"

Brad H. (4/5)

Bass but good bass

"Listened to a wide range of music with these cans. First I noticed the booming bass. But it is incredibly balanced. I’d recommend using the filters to help lessen the bass."

My favorite closed back headphones

"I’ve been listening to the Campfire Audio Cascades for a week now and I really like them. The first thing I noticed was the quality materials and precision manufacturing. It’s excellent. Really. Comfort out of the box is good. I added a headband pad and it’s even better. The sound is just what I hoped for, rich and full. The bass is deep, powerful and there when needed. I have Campfire IEMs with a similar sound and consider them both a joy to listen to. The Cascades are the closed back headphones I’ve been looking for. This is my second HeadAmp purchase and I’m completely satisfied. Orders are shipped quickly and the service is impressive."

Andy (5/5)

Perfect closed-back

"I have several pair of quality open-back headphones, and I’ve been wanting a good pair of closed-backs for a while now, both for a) a stronger bass response and b) portability. These deliver on both fronts. The bass hits HARD on tracks it’s meant to, and you can dial it up and back to taste with the inserts Campfire provides, which make a real difference. The best part is it doesn’t muddy up the mids and highs, which can be an issue with other closed-backs I’ve tried. The soundstage is also surprisingly open for a closed-back headphone. Will they ever equal an open-back in this respect? Nah, but that’s not why I got them! And they’re small, portable, isolate well, and easy to drive with a portable amp or even a phone. Seriously, I feel like I have a well-rounded collection of cans now with this addition: really happy with my purchase."
